IN THE BEGINNING
Country Flyers RC Club was founded on February 26, 2005. At the time, the membership consisted of about a dozen individuals. During this period, the flying field was located
on a tuft farm close to Sumner.
CHANGES
Shortly after the club was organized, changes occurred. The flying field was moved to a tuft farm near Tifton.
MORE CHANGES
Within a year or so of the club forming, it was time to change locations again. Turf farms are good flying locations, but when the grass is gone it isn’t quite as nice. So the
flying field location was changed to a location near Shingler that was previously grew some turf.
CURRENTLY
The flying field is in the same location near Shingler. It consists of a 4-6 acre area which is cut weekly to provide a good quality grass landing strip. About 2 dozen members
and other visitors enjoy flying at the field.
